 Relationship Therapy

No relationship is free of conflict. Effecting change in a relationship happens when you dive beneath the conflict and understand yourself and your partner in a whole new way.  In our work together, we will identify the cycle of conflict that creates stress and the feeling of being “stuck.”

To develop both the strength and vulnerability of a healthy union, I employ a specialized couples therapy, Emotionally Focused therapy (EFT), created by Dr. Sue Johnson.  EFT is a therapeutic approach based on attachment science, a theory that examines the impact of our earliest intimate relationships and the effects it has on our personality and social connections. Empirical evidence of Dr. Johnson’s approach shows that 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and 90% show significant improvement in their relationships.

As an LGBTQIA+ affirmative, sex-positive therapist, I have expertise and training in addressing the mental health concerns of the LGBTQIA+, sexual and gender diverse communities.

What can therapy do for your relationship:

  • Build healthy, positive connections

  • Improve communication

  • Reduce conflict and increase understanding

  • Enhance intimacy

“Once the realization is accepted that even between the closest people infinite distances exist, a marvelous living side-by-side can grow up for them, if they succeed in loving the expanse between them, which gives them the possibility of always seeing each other as a whole and before an immense sky.”

Rainer Maria Rilke
