RELATIONSHIP

In my work with individuals, couples and adolescents I strive to create an accepting environment, where you will feel seen, heard and understood.  My training is integral in creating an environment where we can unravel the sociocultural messages that prevent us from living a life of authenticity. 

 
 

Individuals.

We all experience the world differently. As a therapist I am curious about what has shaped your experience.  How your family, your development, and past events, create the lens with which you see the world.  

Talk therapy allows us to examine these effects on your life and take a deeper look at how old patterns and thoughts are no longer serving you and preventing you from living the life that you desire.

In our work together, you will gain insight into your behaviors, feelings and thoughts, which help you cultivate the power to make the changes you want to enrich your life and relationships.  Including:

Relationship.

I am an LGBTQIA+ Affirmative, sex-positive therapist who understands the strength we can feel in union and also the vulnerability.

No relationship is free of conflict, but change happens when you dive beneath the conflict and understand yourself and your partner(s) in a whole new way.  In our work together, we will identify the cycle of conflict you get caught, which creates distress and makes you feel stuck.

I work using a specialized couples therapy called Emotionally Focused therapy (EFT).  EFT is a therapeutic approach to working with couples created by Dr. Sue Johnson.

Her work is supported through empirical research that shows that 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and ~90% show significant improvement after application of this approach. 

Adolescents.

Adolescence is a time of change, developmentally, emotionally and physically.  It is also an important time of developing self-awareness, confidence and meaningful relationships. 

Our work is centered around helping you navigate all of the conflicting emotions present during this phase of life and learning how to express them, having relationships that feel solid and healthy and being more empowered to create the life you want.

 Therapy is a safe place for inner exploration, where no topic is off limits. My office is a comfortable, confidential space that is free of judgement and centered on helping you cope with and shift current challenges.  

 My hope is that I can be someone to help you or your loved one on this path of growth as it can be challenging for both parents and adolescents.
